more than the usual amounts of stuff came to my mailbox the past two months…

quite possibly my favorite moleskine to date. a rich color. so soft to the touch. (the original one i bought last august for 2010 i lost in early january)

required readings for school but art school is proving to be quite interesting so far…

leisure reading i haven’t gotten to yet, and probably won’t get to until may.

cd’s from the kitchen label webshop that are making my ears very happy.

  3. I haven’t read The Unbearable Lightness of Being, but I’ve heard good things about it. I hope you enjoy it! (I first heard about Milan Kundera b/c of a quote of his: “Love begins with a metaphor.”)

The cd covers look so pretty~!

  4. they are my current favorite cds! you can sample two songs from each on the label’s site and listen to “indoor thoughts”. such quiet, inspiring music :)

  6. hello melissa! thanks for commenting :)

and about the music review, here’s the thing. i fail at words (i’m a visual person) but i will highly recommend all of them. the musicians all have a very solid point of view, but there is this thread that unites them all.

+ akira kosemura’s “polaroid piano” is very minimal, with most songs being piano only. it’s very soft and quiet.
+ musette reminds me of the european countryside. some songs you want to walk and whistle to and others you just want to lay down in the grass and think.
+ evade surprised me! i thought the album would sound like their song “crush”, which was the song that made me buy their ep. but the last two tracks have reggae/ska influence!

i’ve found that i love all three but for different reasons. they’re each very inspiring in their own way. hope this helps :)
